We’re a family business, so birthdays are important to us, but this one is a bit special. We're celebrating our half century: Blake has been supplying equipment into the industry since 1971. As one of our loyal customers, we’d like to thank you for your support. We literally couldn’t have done it without you.
Let us share a short history of our first 50 years in business.
Legend has it that in 1971, Ron Blake founded the business on a workbench made out of a door and two dustbins. He was originally supplying VHF TV aerials into the industry and hoped to capitalise on the large increase in UHF coloured TV viewing.
As we enter our 51st trading year, Blake is the only remaining UK manufacturer. Ron must have doing something right with his door and bins because the business grew, and by 1978 the range had expanded to include brackets and masts. The range may have changed and expanded beyond all recognition over the years, but our commitment for quality products and great customer service, instilled by Ron, remains undiminished.
Since then, we have worked hard to expand our range, and have forged long standing solid relationships with customers reflecting our experience and knowledge in the industry. For example, in 2002 we launched PROception, our signal and distribution brand which has become synonymous with quality and reliability.
It’s amazing to think that some of the original fittings Ron sold when he opened the business, can still be found in the current range today.
Looking forward, the future is bright. We will continue to innovate and develop, to unlock new opportunities for our customers and secure our proud position as the first choice for the UK installation market in TV, Wi-Fi and home security.
