16-Way Single Mode Simplex Fibre Optical Cartridge PLC Splitter SC/APC
PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) fibre optic splitters are an essential component of any optical network. These devices can be used to divide a single incoming signal into multiple outputs, enabling the loading and transmission of data over large distances. This helps to significantly reduce cost and maintenance time in networks as fewer components are required for the installation and configuration process.
PLC splitters are made from Fused Biconical Tapered (FBT) technology which minimises insertion loss and crosstalk, resulting in greater stability, lower bit-error rates, and improved system performance. They work by separating light with an angle polished connector at one end which allows the optical signal to enter into one port and be divided amongst multiple outputs.
They are widely used in Passive Optical Networks (PONs) for FTTH (Fibre-To-The-Home) applications. They offer reliability, high isolation between output ports, low insertion loss and good channel uniformity. I’m pleased with the ærial overall. I did have to fix two separate issues though… 1. Many of the elements were bent, some quite badly. Happily they all bent straight again without any fatigue fracture. 2. Many of the elements were not seated properly in the booms. In one case, a vertical element was touching one on the other boom. I was able to pull the unseated ones out to seat better but I’m not sure how long they’ll stay like this.

This is my second review for this same product. I bought a Twin Coax Surface Mount Switch Outlet Box, but could only get it to work if I physically held the aerial in place, so left a one star review. I quickly received an email from Chloe offering a couple of solutions to the problem, so I decided on a new switch with a soldered coax cable, which I'm pleased to say works perfectly. After receiving such a friendly and efficient service I have definitely changed my mind about Blake-uk.com and would not hesitate to recommend them.
