8-Way 1m Single Mode Simplex Fibre Optical Mini PLC Splitter SC/APC

PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) fibre optic splitters are an essential component of any optical network. These devices can be used to divide a single incoming signal into multiple outputs, enabling the loading and transmission of data over large distances. This helps to significantly reduce cost and maintenance time in networks as fewer components are required for the installation and configuration process.

PLC splitters are made from Fused Biconical Tapered (FBT) technology which minimises insertion loss and crosstalk, resulting in greater stability, lower bit-error rates, and improved system performance. They work by separating light with an angle polished connector at one end which allows the optical signal to enter into one port and be divided amongst multiple outputs.

They are widely used in Passive Optical Networks (PONs) for FTTH (Fibre-To-The-Home) applications. They offer reliability, high isolation between output ports, low insertion loss and good channel uniformity. They are compact and light-weight, offering an neat and easy installation making them ideal for a wide range of applications.
